This article relates to Martin DUNPHY (1800-1870) my maternal 4th Great-Grandfather.  Martin married my 4th Great-Grandmother, Maria SMITH (1815-1896) and their son, Constantine Octavius DUNPHY (1849-1893) was my 3rd Great-Grandfather.

The tragic story of Muriel Annie DIXON (1900-1913) is that of my Great-Aunt.  Muriel was the older sister of my maternal Great-Grandmother, Myra Mildred DIXON (1902-1947) and the daughter of my 2nd Great-Grandparents, William Alfred DIXON  and Annie OWENS

A new record set was add to Ancestry this week. On closer inspection, it looks to be a number of records that are too small to have their own name.

About the collection:

The US, Life Saving Medals Awarded, 1876-1944 consists of registers that were used to record the awarding of Life-Saving Medals. There were two classes of lifesaving medals awarded, the First Class, or Gold, which was confined to cases of ‘extreme and heroic daring,’ and the Second Class, or Silver, which was for ‘not sufficiently distinguished to deserve the medal of the First Class.’
